Tikkun Olam

Derech HaLev is committed to a living Judaism and integrating Judaism’s values into our daily actions. The Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, literally meaning to repair the world, is a value that not only Jews but all humans are responsible to perform. This year, 2016-17, Tikkun Olam will be one of the two pillars our Beit Midrash will focus upon [youth school, K-6].  We’ll together, all year long, be creating, developing and experiencing our shared efforts geared to a repair of our world.  Often our Shabbat gatherings will include a specific Tikkun Olam project. These opportunities are open to anyone and everyone! Any age is welcome and this is a great experience as a family.

Last year we made “no-sew” blankets for children at CHOP, went to a soup kitchen, while another family encouraged participation in Comcast Cares Day. Derech HaLev wants to support your interests, learning, and our all coming together – contact us if you have an idea!

Please check the calendar for dates.
